Eliminate Duplicate Photo Files

April 12th, 2010 | by Tim Elliott

Does your business store large quantities of digital photo files? Those files tend to be large and that means duplicates can eat up a ton of storage drive space. If not at work, you probably do at home if you own a digital camera.

Here’s a Washington Post review of little $25 app that proposes to help you find and eliminate those dupes, even when the pics have different file names.

Why We Keep Our Business in Oklahoma

April 12th, 2010 | by Greg Elliott

I don’t think there is a better place in the world to live and raise a family than the state of Oklahoma. It’s also a wonderful place to grow a business. I’d like to help make it even better.

At our company, we’ve been very intentional about keeping our business strategy focused on Oklahoma. And we’ve been just as intentional about doing business with Oklahoma-based companies.

We believe that if we’re going to grow our company here, we ought to hire here, bank here, and spend here. As much as possible, we want our money stimulating this state’s economy. We just think that’s the right way to do things.

We think that’s a sound business strategy for several reasons:

Business Advantages—When Oklahoma companies make it a policy to be state centric, in other words to prefer companies that are also based here in Oklahoma, the entire state economy benefits.

Community Advantages—Doing business in Oklahoma results in an enhanced quality of life right where we live. Strong, vibrant local communities are the key to that quality. And that quality in turn keeps our children and grandchildren living and working nearby. That leads me to my next point . . .

Generational Advantages—We currently are experiencing a brain drain in Oklahoma and it’s costing us all in long-term ways that are hard to measure. We are losing talented people to other states with a higher perceived quality of life or better job opportunities.

For businesses, doing everything we can to keep our state prosperous and our communities strong makes all the sense in the world. I’m striving to make sure my company is doing all it can. How about your business?
